Sanctions
Queensland Government and other regulatory agencies have responsibilities, for the asbestos-related laws that they administer, to monitor compliance and take appropriate enforcement action. Enforcement action can include investigating, prosecuting and penalising serious breaches of asbestos-related laws including unsafe removal practices, unlicensed work, illegal waste disposal and importation. Penalties may include on-the spot fines, fines from a court and asbestos related licensing sanctions.
